iQuda celebrates 20 years in business

On Friday 21 June we celebrated 20 years since iQuda started. We’d like to thank our amazing team & our clients for your continued support – we couldn’t do it without you.

We took some time out on Friday to celebrate 20 years since iQuda began. The company started on Monday 21 June 1999 as KCS in Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire. KCS originally ran as a computer retailer & repair store serving home & business clients from a small shop on the Berkhamsted High Street. The current owners Stephen Macintosh & Anthony Jones acquired the business in 2005/2006 & shortly after they turned their focus to the B2B sector. In 2007 we moved to our current premises in Hemel Hempstead, a short drive from the original store which we eventually sold in 2010.

KCS became iQuda in 2016, which marked a major turning point for the business. In that same year we grew substantially, almost doubling our team & the number of clients we were able to support. Our growth around that point was driven by our focus on new & exciting solutions, security certifications & our decision to focus our support on specialist sectors. We welcomed many hundreds of new endpoints (devices we support) to the team before the end of 2017. In the same year we doubled our premises, buying & connecting to a neighbouring building to accommodate our growing team.

In 2017, we were first recognized as one of the worlds top 501 MSPs in the most comprehensive global survey of managed service providers. We also ranked in the top 40 for Europe, the Middle East & Africa. Fast-forward to 2019 & we hold the number 1 position for both Hemel Hempstead & Hertfordshire – a far cry from that summer day when KCS first opened its doors!

We celebrated this milestone year in the office with a day of food & festivity. We’re by no means the oldest MSP around, but we still managed to chuckle that we’re older than our youngest employee by a couple of years. Indeed when the company first began the dominant Operating System was Windows 98, the Matrix had just been release, & the USB flash drive was just about to receive a patent. It could hold a whopping 8MB!

We are incredibly excited for the future. We’ve seen a huge amount of change in the time we’ve been in IT and we look forward to helping businesses big & small to overcome their IT challenges for years to come. Thank you to the incredible people who make iQuda who we are & to the amazing clients who choose iQuda year after year. We are very grateful to you.
