Disaster Recovery

Whether you currently have an unreliable disaster recovery policy in place, or you feel you could take further action to enhance your protection policy, iQuda can help you implement an appropriate solution. We understand that every organisation is different and we always design our disaster recovery solutions according to what is cost-effective and appropriate. We use off-site, multi-location and hybrid solutions to deliver best in class solutions. If you prefer to focus on your entire IT estate, the server you are most dependent upon or you’re unsure what is most appropriate, we can help you find and test the correct solution. We take away your stress, giving you a fully managed disaster recovery solution that can be restored in hours rather than days.

  • 80% of businesses that suffer a disaster are out of business within 3 years
  • Accidents happen – hardware is never 100% reliable and natural disasters strike
  • Risk management is a legal requirement in many industries
  • High costs associated with a disruptive event are avoidable
  • Don’t wait to find out how you could be affected

Disasters are not solely natural. Business disasters can be malicious or accidental, internal or external, man-made (cyber-attack,virus, theft or deliberate damage) or so called “acts of God” (floods, fires, earthquakes and such). They refer to any event that causes significant interruption or damage to a business, that in some way put the business at risk. Natural disasters cannot be prevented but they can be prepared for. Human-induced disasters can be minimised or reduced through appropriate security measures e.g. an alarm, security codes or by preventing access to business critical systems by unauthorised persons. Examples of preventative measures include implementing a continuous offsite data backup or hosting your servers on the cloud. This helps to ensure that these mission-critical systems can be recovered when a disaster strikes. In this way, disaster recovery ensures that your business has appropriate risk measures in place and delivers the benefit of excellent continuity.

What Can We Help You With?

Disaster Recovery Planning

Our disaster recovery solutions deliver rapid system recovery in the event of an unforeseen business disaster. By planning for eventualities and building your infrastructure for maximum resilience, we aim to prepare your IT systems for every eventuality. This is achieved through solid, tested disaster recovery planning on possible disaster scenarios.

We focus on developing your system with built-in redundancy, delivering your assurance that your business is positioned to stand the tests of time. We have enabled businesses of all sizes to successfully recover from disasters such as server failure, computer theft and damage to systems through natural disasters. All our experience in this field is directly transferred to every additional organisation we work with.

Rapid Recovery

A well implemented disaster recovery plan ensures your IT and critical systems are up and running as quickly as possible after a disaster. Disaster recovery is a subset of business continuity planning and aims to protect a business’s normal operations in the event of a significant incident or emergency. DR sets out the processes involved with keeping that business operating as normal when an unforeseen event occurs.

iQuda develops a disaster recovery plan around your business and your priority systems. We use preventative and corrective measure to minimise the negative consequences of a business disaster. Our solutions encompass every aspect of your IT infrastructure including your servers, computers, phones and telephone systems.

Scenario Testing

Scenario: It is 8am in the morning, it is month end and your servers have just died, its going to take 5 to six days to procure a new one, get it installed and then restore your backup – that’s if it works!

Imagine how your business would recover if you had no disaster recovery solution in place. The disaster in question could be anything from a computer virus, power outage, server downtime or a large-scale natural disaster.

How would you recover if you were to experience the loss of a critical server? What if you were to lose all your documents without an appropriate backup in place? The chances are, you would likely experience interruption to your working environment and possibly a commercial disaster situation if you were unable to resolve this interruption within an appropriate time frame.

Hybrid Solutions

With our service based on the PLAN-DO-CHECK-ACT methodology, every aspect of your disaster recovery plan is tested and verified before implementation. We plan for every eventuality, we implement a solution that works for your business, we check and test your solution to mitigate any chance of failure, and we implement fail-safes so your business continuity plan is as secure as possible. All this is implemented in line with global best practice and a number of recognised information security standards.

In some instances our clients opt for the implementation of a failover server, essentially a synchronised twin of their primary server environment. This can also be achieved by taking a daily or weekly snapshot of your server and creating a mirror image on a separate server. We typically implement a hybrid solution to ensure a multi-faceted solution.

Risk Prevention

You can plan for disasters but you can’t stop them altogether. That’s why it’s so important to implement a disaster recovery and business continuity plan that you can rely on. By planning and preparing for eventual disasters, your business is well positioned for continued success when disasters occur. Our approach includes thorough risk identification and prevention which leaves nothing to chance.  By identifying risks you are in a better position to mitigate them. Don’t wait to find out why disaster recovery is a top priority for businesses of all sizes. Get in touch today.

Tried & Tested Solutions

We focus on preventing significant disasters from first occurring and reducing their negative consequences when they do occur. We prioritise your core systems “normal functions” to ensure that you can be back up and running as quickly as possible. We use the latest virtualisation technology to deliver world class disaster recovery services at affordable prices.

Our solutions work from the ground up, using devices such as an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) to reduce interruption in the event of a short-term power failure and ensuring your systems physical security is reliable.

We formulate your disaster recovery plan around Recovery Time Objectives (RTOs) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPOs). These objectives guarantee your system will be up and running within a specified timeframe and to a specific point in time.

Your data backup is configured around these objectives to ensure that your data is secured and that it can be restored as soon as possible after a disaster. RTOs and RPOs help you to understand how quickly your business will recover following a disaster.

Information Security

Thorough scenario testing is included in our service. This approach leaves nothing to chance and ensures that your disaster recovery plan can be relied on. Our ISO 27001 certification provides assurance that we work in line with global information security management standards. Our disaster recovery plan has been externally audited and we apply the same principles to every additional client we work with.

Our Approach

  • Understand your business, what you do and your daily operations.
  • Assess your IT infrastructure and essential systems.
  • Prioritise each aspect of your IT estate according to it’s importance to you. We categorise high availability (continuously operational) and low availability (non-continuously operating) systems to understand the importance of each aspect of your IT estate.
  • Create RPOs or recovery point objectives (loss allowances) and RTOs or recovery time objectives (the maximum timeframe for recovery following a disaster).
  • Implement and test a personalised disaster recovery plan, using remote and local technologies.
  • Test and fully manage your DR plan at a scheduled time each day or week.
  • Reduce your restore time to the lowest timeframe possible.
  • Regularly evaluate and review your plan in line with continuous ongoing changes and new developments.
